Market Goats

Since the last post was the girls market goats, here is the finished product after 4 1/2 months of hard work.

Well the girls are very excited about their 2013 market goats.  We just recieved pictures of them!  The one with the white spot on it's back is Kohlie's and the solid red is Abby's.

Three years have passed since I blogged.  Wow.  My family have seen so many changes since then.  I hope to blog often now as I enter a new phase of life.  I am quitting my job in a couple of weeks and want to share my ideas for saving money and living on less.  I am now almost 40 years old.  Two kids are in college now!  Three years in the life of a large family can show many changes.  

Christmas 2009

Chirstmas was difficult this year. Grandpa passed away on the 21st, so it was hard to feel happy and Christmassy. We did our best. On Christmas eve, the kids opened their jammies that mom sewed. Six pairs! I didn't think I would get it done. Then we piled in the cars and drove around looking at Christmas lights. Christmas morning we opened packages and enjoyed the time together. At 11:00 Grandma and Grandpa W, Uncle D, and Uncle K and Aunt A and the kids came over for a brunch. We visited and had a great time. At 3:00 we left for Uncle D and Aunt B's house for a big family dinner. We enjoyed the company and the food. We hope that all of our friends and family also had a nice, uplifting Christmas and pray for a happy new year!

My Grandpa who I adored finished his earthly life on December 21, 2009. I will miss him dearly. When I think of his passing A poem I read comes to mind:

I am standing upon the seashore a ship at my side spreads her sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she is a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle one with another.
Then someone at my side says,"There, she is gone".
"Gone where?"
Gone from my sight, that is all.
She is just as large is mast, hull, and spar as when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living frieght to her destined port.
Her diminshed size is in me, not in her.
Just at that moment someone at my side says,"There she is gone"
There are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout,"Here she comes!"

Grandpa, I thank you for the memories, I will treasure them for the rest of my life. Someday long from now I will sail away from this life, from the sight of those who love me here, and you will be on the other side saying," Here she comes!"

We had grandma and Grandpa W over for dinner with the missionaries on Monday night. We had a nice visit and Abster loved her Sponge Bob cake.

Abster had her first birthday party with her friends. She decided she wanted to go swimming. So we did! She had a really fun birthday party.

Our New Babies

Noelle gave birth on March 6 to triplets little girls. Sadly on Saturday the 7th the little black baby died. It was really hard for us to see her die. She just got too cold throughout the night and we tried to warm her up but it was just too late. On the happy side of things we now have two healthy baby girls now named Millie and Elizabeth.

Christmas

We had a really nice Christmas this year. The season started out rough. Aunt B's dad passed away on the 9th of December. Christmas was going to be at there house however, who would be in the spirit after losing your father. So the festivities were moved to Aunt K's house. On Christmas Eve we went to Aunt A and Uncle K's house. We ate, sang Christmas carols, and read spiritual stories. It was really nice. Christmas morning, we opened packages here at home and then went to Aunt K's for mom's side of the family. Hopefully I'll have pictures up soon. Mike ran off with the memory card reader so I'm not able to add them yet. Hopefully soon though!

This picture is all the grandkids(2: Crazy Mamma, and Uncle D)and great grandkids(7: J, Princess, Bubba, Monkey, Abster, Boogie, and Little G) and great grandma.

We had a very nice Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpas house. I decided that I am most thankful for my family. Each and every one of them! I am also thankful for my children's health, and for a husband that drives a very long way to work so that we can live where we live. I love it here!

Family Update

Hello Everyone,

The W Family is doing great. We are busy getting ready for Thanksgiving with grandma and grandpa and even great grandma in John Day. Since J has his drivers permit, he'll be driving over there adding another few hours to his driving log. Bubba has finished up football and really loved it. Right now he is working on a school project with Dad and the neighbor kid. Princess is in school full time and getting all a's and b's. We are so proud of her. Monkey, is tagging along with mom these days. We are raising hens for eggs. We are trying to sell them however, we aren't getting many eggs these days and the ones we do get, we eat! HMMM.. Abster is loving the first grade. She just became a self-manager(a very special priveledge). Boogie is what can I say.....A stinker. He is almost 17 months old and loves to get into things. He is awful cute though. He is also getting in 6 teeth at one time. Poor little guy. We will be getting our new familiy photo's back soon and then I'll update the blog with those. I will also post some pictures from Thanksgiving. I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Have you ever seen pigeons like these? There were over 950 pigeons at the show. It was amazing.
